I was in San Jose from Sunday June 3rd through Saturday June 9th for Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This was my first WWDC I have ever attended and it was truly a special experience to say the least.

On Monday Apple hosted their keynote where they released iOS 12, macOS 10.14 Mojave, tvOS 12, and watchOS 5. At the end Apple did something super rare and announced that next year developers will be able to build macOS applications based on iOS frameworks. This technology still is very secretive and doesn't have a lot of details about how it will work. Apple will probably release more details about this during WWDC next year (2019).

I got in line for the keynote at about 1:30am, and by that time there were a handful of people in line or so. Due to getting in line so early I was able to get second row seats which was a truly special experience for my first WWDC.

One of the things that could have been better in my opinion is the keynote line organization. At the beginning of the keynote Apple played a video about developers rushing to get a great seat at the keynote. This is beyond true, and I wish it was more orderly and calm. The whole experience getting a seat at the keynote was one of the worst parts of the conference probably. Although it paid off, it shouldn't have been that miserable.

Even despite that all of Apple's event staff were beyond amazing throughout the entire process. It truly felt like every moment they were working to provide the best experience for every single attendee.

Probably the most memorable moment for me was walking into the hall where the keynote was taking place. Just walking through those doors and seeing the scale of how massive the room was, was incredible. With the music and massive wall of apps. It was a surreal and magical experience.

On Tuesday night I started an Apple Music playlist based on all my Shazam songs I have tagged at WWDC 2018.

I have also made a Twitter moment that captures all of my WWDC 2018 related tweets I posted. I have also posted some pictures and such on Instagram, which you can find by navigating to my contact page to find all my social accounts.

My WWDC18 Experience

One other major problem of mine was the WiFI at WWDC. I would have loved to tweet more during the keynote but the WiFi was truly unusable. I can't imagine it's easy to provide WiFi on that massive of a scale, but it was still annoying.

I have to thank a few people for this experience. First a HUGE thank you to all of the Apple staff who made WWDC happen. All of the Apple staff were super polite, from helping ensure the people at the front of the line for the keynote got amazing seats, to answering questions, to bringing the energy and making the atmosphere fun for this massive event.

I'd also like to thank everyone who attended WWDC. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting going into it, I mean I knew it was gonna be massive, but I'm not sure I expected the scale that it really was. It was truly mind blowing.

This experience was truly one of the best events I have ever been to so thank you to every involved in making WWDC so amazing.
