Comments (BETA)
The comments system on this blog uses a few decentralized social media services to aggregate comments about the posts I make. This allows you to comment on my posts using your own social media accounts and they will be visible on the post.
The social media services currently supported are:
Simply reply to one of my blog posts on one of those supported platforms and your comment will be visible on my blog post. There are icons next to the Conversation section of the bottom of each post that will link you to the various social media platforms to help you easily find the post to engage with.
If the decentralized social media platform you use is not listed above, please contact me and I will consider adding support for it.
Please note that not all posts are eligible for comments. If you don't see the Conversation section at the bottom of a post then that post is not eligible for comments. This is usually because the post was written a long time ago and I haven't yet built a system to support comments on older posts. It could also indicate downtime with my backend system.
Additionally, you might not see the Conversation section if you have JavaScript disabled in your browser. I hope eventually to add support to make comments visible without needing to enable JavaScript, but for now JavaScript is required.
Some platforms such as Mastodon allow you to post messages with non public visibility. This site respects those privacy settings and will not display comments that are not public.
I have the right to hide or remove any comment for any reason. This will primarily be used to remove spam comments or comments that are not appropriate for this site. This feature is meant to encourage a healthy positive discussion, please ensure your comments reflect that.
This feature is currently in beta. There might be bugs or periods of downtime. If you notice any issues please contact me.
